Do you know a high school student who is a great speaker or one willing to put in the effort to become a speaker?  The Rotary Club of Walnut Grove participates in the District's annual 4-Way Speech Contest.  Along with District 5180, our club recruits students from Delta High School and students from other local private schools or equivalent. Rotary District 5180 Club Speech Contest is a great opportunity to win award money at the local club level and compete at the Regional level.

This District 5180 committee recruits 9th-12th grade students to compete in the Rotary Speech Contest. Each year the district requires a theme. Committee members serve as judges and timers for the Districts Club's contest that is held in each year in March. Our winner then goes on to compete at the area and district levels. Final competition is at the Annual District Conference, usually in May.

● SUNDAY, March 13, 2022: Deadline to COMPLETE all club contests.
● SUNDAY, April 17, 2022: Deadline to COMPLETE all Area semifinal contests.
● SATURDAY, April 30, 2022:
District Speech Contest Final
Montbleu Resort,
Stateline, NV.
Contestant needs to plan to arrive AND report to room “Evergreen A” by
10:15 am for the 10:45 am contest.
Regional Semi-Final Contests
There will be four semifinal speech contests scheduled between March 14 and April 18.
Each regional semifinal contest will be organized and conducted by two of our Rotary District Assistant Governors, tentatively scheduled as follows:
● North Regional: Clark Redfield and Robert Saxe
● Mid Regional: Sherie Tobin and Steve Turner
● Sacramento Regional: Leigh-Ann Reinero and Tommy Peno
● South Regional: Martha Ng and Sidney Smith
