Do you know a high school student who enjoys public speaking - or someone who simply needs the opportunity to discover their voice?

Each year, the Rotary Club of Walnut Grove proudly sponsors our club in the Rotary District 5180 4-Way Speech Contest, providing students in grades 9–12 with an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and compete for scholarship awards.

Students from Delta High School, local area high schools, private schools, and home-school programs are encouraged to participate.

Whether you're already an accomplished speaker or stepping behind a podium for the very first time, the Rotary Speech Contest is an opportunity to challenge yourself, inspire others, and create a lasting impact.

Why Participate?

The Rotary Speech Contest is much more than a competition.

Participants have the opportunity to:

• Develop confidence speaking before an audience.
• Strengthen leadership and communication skills.
• Organize and present ideas in a meaningful way.
• Compete for scholarship prize money.
• Represent the Rotary Club of Walnut Grove at the Area and District competitions.
• Meet Rotary members who are committed to developing tomorrow's future community leaders.

Each year Rotary District 5180 selects a new speech theme that encourages students to think critically, communicate effectively, and inspire others through their ideas.

District Scholarship Awards

🥇 First Place — $2,000

🥈 Second Place — $1,000

🥉 Third Place — $500

🏅 Fourth Place — $250

Scholarship amounts shown are District 5180 awards and are subject to change by the District.
