President-Elect Message: Josh McMillon 2026-2027

In a place like Walnut Grove, impact isn’t abstract - it’s personal.

It lives in the familiar faces we see everyday, in the family owned businesses that keep our town alive, and in the traditions that quietly shape who we are. It’s built over time, through consistency, care, and a willingness to show up... again and again.

This Rotary year, inspired by Rotary International President Olayinka Babalola’s theme “Creating Lasting Impact,” we’re stepping into that responsibility with intention. Not just to serve - but to build something that endures.

As a young business owner here in Walnut Grove, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing this community from both sides - being supported, and now stepping into a role where I can give back in a deeper, more meaningful way. What I’ve come to understand is simple: strong communities don’t happen by chance. They’re built by people who care enough to invest in them.

That’s what Rotary represents.

From our long-standing Rotary Club of Walnut Grove Scholarship & Community Fundraiser Auction and Dinner to the ongoing care of spaces like Dr. Paul Barnes Community Park, our work is rooted in real impact - supporting students, strengthening community spaces, and preserving what makes our town special.

But we’re not here just to protect the past - we’re here to shape the future.

This year, my focus is clear:

• Elevate the impact of our scholarship efforts to reach and support more local students
• Invest in projects that leave visible, lasting improvements in our community
• Create space for the next generation to step into leadership, bringing new energy, ideas, and perspective

I step into this role with deep respect for the leaders who came before me - and a clear vision for what’s possible moving forward. Rotary is built on service, but it thrives on momentum. And right now, we have an opportunity to build something that lasts far beyond this year.
