Volunteers from the Rotary Club of Walnut Grove, community members, and the DEV Board showed up on Saturday 9/26 to participate in the first year Harvest of the DEV.  Side-by-side, in under 3 hours, the volunteers worked until the last grape was harvested from the 8 rows of Cabernet Franc.

It was a beautiful Delta morning to harvest and appreciate the 5 years of love and community support to make the DEV reality.  Over a breakfast of homemade breakfast burritos, donuts, pear coffee cake and hot coffee, Charles VanRiper spoke a few words and offered thanks to all who supported this Delta Education Vineyard (DEV) project.

The grapes are being processed by the Old Sugar Mill and the wine will carry a special DEV label.  Your purchase of a bottle will be reinvested back into the DEV project for future Delta High School students to stewardship the vineyard.

Our sincerest congratulations to all involved!  Cheers!
