About the Speaker (from his website):

Stephen F. Heringer is the 5th of 6 generations to farm Clarksburg soils.  Now only farming wine grapes, he is maried 56 years with 3 adult children all involved in Heringer Estates operations.  Stephen is heavily involved in his community and church activities.  He is enjoying 10 grandkids.

Rotary Club and Community Service Work Day, MONDAY APRIL 28, 2025   Followed by Lunch:

• Scheduled for 9:00 am to 11:30 am - Meet at Paul Barnes Park
• This is a clean-up day and the location will be announced in April.
• Lunch Following in the Koinonia Room at the Community Church.
• Everyone is welcome, whether or not you participated in the work.
• Rotary will be suppling the garbage bags, safety vest, and a litter picker upper.

Please sign-up at the next meeting or on the website (coming soon).

Be prepared, here are a few things to consider bringing:

• Water, remember to stay hydrated
• Hat
• Sunscreen
• Cool clothing, including long sleeve and pants, comfortable work shoes
• Sense of humor
• Gloves
• Garden Tools for the Chuck Tyson Memorial Park section of clean-up

About the Speakers:

Tami Wilson isDirector of English Language Arts at the Sacramento Co. Office of Education (SCOE) and is project lead on the California Literacy Roadmap.  Tami serves on the California Reading Difficulties Risk Screen Selection Panel and was the Project Lead for the California Dyslexia Initiative (CDI).  Tami has been an educator for over 35 years and has developed and delivered statewide training in English language arts, leadership, standards of accountability, supporting teachers, coaches, and administrators.  Tami served on the CTC SB488 Work Group, and as staff for the California State Academic Content Standards Commission.  Tamie has worked on numerous statewide committees to decelop and roll out professional development on the standards, framework, instructional materials toolkit, and the California Dyslexia Guidelines.  Tami served as the SCOE lead for the Scaling Up MTSS project, supporting districts in Sacramento to devleop and implement comprehensive frameworks that align academic, behavioral, and social emotional learning.  Tamie is passionate about creating equitable learning environments for all students and provide training, coaching, and support to high needs schools across California.

Denise is a resident on Grand Island and is deeply committed to our local community.  In particular, the advancement of education and opportunities for our children, youths, and families.  Denise is a part of the California State PTA, specificatlly, Third District, Delta Units.  She is on the State Board of Managers, VP Programs and Mentor.  Denise also hold the Treasurer postion with the Walnut Grove PTA.

Memorial Day is one of the federal holidays in the United States for honoring and mourning the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is observed on the last Monday of May. Memorial Day is also considered the unofficial beginning of summer in the United States.

Its name is a portmanteau of the words "June" and "nineteenth", as it is celebrated on the anniversary of June 19, 1865, when as the American Civil War was ending, Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas.

This night is our Demotion Dinner.  There is no lunch meeting.
